Terms of Service

Effective: June 15, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Traversa LLC (“Traversa,” “we,” “us”) governing your use of the Traversa website, web application, and browser extension (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Illinois to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that you have the legal authority to enter into these Terms.

2. Your Account

  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update it as needed.
  • You must notify us promptly at privacy@legatochicago.xyz if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. The Service

Traversa helps Illinois residents coordinate a residential move, including organizing tasks (utility transfers, change-of-address, certificates of insurance, elevator reservations), uploading and storing relevant documents, and, where applicable, communicating with the property manager of the building you are moving into. The features available to you depend on whether you are a resident or a property manager and on the building you are associated with.

4. Property Manager Accounts

If you use the Service in a property-manager capacity, you additionally agree that:

  • You are authorized to act on behalf of the building(s) you manage in Traversa.
  • You will only access resident move information for legitimate building-management purposes consistent with your authorization.
  • You will treat resident information confidentially and consistent with applicable law.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others.
  • Upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or harmful.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or otherwise attempt to extract source code or non-public data from the Service, except as permitted by law.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or circumvent any access or rate-limiting controls.
  • Use the Service to send spam, malware, or other harmful content.
  • Misrepresent your identity, your role (resident vs. property manager), or your authorization to manage a particular building or unit.
  • Use automated systems to access the Service in a way that exceeds normal human use, except for our published browser extension used as intended.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of the information and documents you submit to the Service (your “User Content”). You grant Traversa a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to receive, process, transmit, and — where indicated in our Privacy Policy — store your User Content, solely as needed to operate the Service for you (for example, to extract policy details from an insurance binder you upload, share the verification result with your property manager, and email the binder PDF to your property manager when it verifies). We do not use your User Content to train AI models or for advertising.

You represent that you have all necessary rights to share any User Content you submit, and you agree not to submit content that infringes on the rights of others.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service helps you complete tasks that involve third parties (utility companies, USPS, the Illinois Secretary of State, your property manager, your insurance carrier, and others). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Traversa is not responsible for the actions, errors, or omissions of those third parties, including delays, refusals, or denials of any application or transfer initiated through them.

8. Maestro Browser Extension

Maestro is Traversa’s optional browser extension. Maestro autofills your Traversa move details (name, email, phone, target address, apartment or unit, ZIP) into third-party utility-transfer and change-of-address forms on your behalf. Maestro does not autofill Social Security numbers, passwords, or payment fields.

You log in to third-party sites yourself; Maestro does not capture, store, or transmit your third-party credentials. Maestro reports to Traversa only which tasks you have completed and does not read or transmit the contents of those third-party accounts back to Traversa. If Maestro’s static autofill gets stuck on a particular step, the extension sends Traversa a sanitized snippet of the page (with input values stripped) along with the move-detail values it was attempting to fill, which Traversa then forwards to our AI provider (Anthropic) to compute an updated autofill plan. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.

9. Fees

The Service is free for residents during the current period. We may introduce paid features in the future; if we do, we will give you notice and an opportunity to decline before any charge.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time by emailing privacy@legatochicago.xyz. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if continued provision of the Service to you would expose Traversa or others to legal or security risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) will survive.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Traversa does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that it will produce any particular result, including approval of any move-in by a property manager or successful completion of any third-party transfer.

Traversa is not a law firm, insurance broker, or licensed real estate, utility, or relocation professional, and nothing in the Service constitutes legal, insurance, tax, or professional advice.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Traversa and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, even if Traversa has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Traversa’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Traversa from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use of the Service, (b) your User Content, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any third-party right.

14. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You and Traversa agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois for any dispute that is not otherwise subject to a binding alternative dispute-resolution mechanism.

15. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms means you accept them.

16. Miscellaneous

  • If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
  • You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Traversa regarding the Service.
